Research and development

Our R&D team is constantly developing and refining our product range to ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation in the sports turf industry. Our new product range has been redesigned to ensure it meets the more stringent FIFA Quality standards along with FIH (international Hockey Federation) and World Rugby testing criteria.

With specialist testing equipment in our state-of-the-art labs, including a Lisport XL testing machine, we have the tools to continually perfect the playing and functional characteristics of our artificial sports turf.

Design

As an expert in the sports turf industry, GreenFields can design and advise on your new project from the start, pulling together all the key elements so that your new pitch meets your exact requirements. We are experienced in all types of sports turf pitches including synthetic and hybrid grass.

Our system approach ensures that your new sports pitch has all the right additional requirements such as foundations and infill. As well as new builds, we are able to carry out pitch resurfacing if you are looking to replace your old pitch.

Installation

Our dedicated Construction, Installation and Maintenance department is involved in all aspects of your pitch installation. Before each project starts, our experienced civil engineers and technical staff perform a pre-inspection on the site. This includes a review of pitch dimensions, drainage, soil composition and more (which if not examined can sometimes lead to problems during installation).

We work closely with the local installation team, enabling us to guarantee a quality, professional new sports pitch that meets professional testing requirements should it need to.

Performance testing

On completion, your pitch can be tested by an accredited testing institute to ensure it complies with the required standard. This is a key part of sports pitch installation to guarantee both the quality and increased life span of the surface.

Our commitment to excellence has resulted in GreenFields being recognised by the governing bodies of several major sports – GreenFields is a FIFA Preferred Producer for football, an FIH Approved Turf Manufacturer for field hockey and a Preferred Turf Producer for World Rugby.

There are four basic categories that define the overall performance of the synthetic surface and these will form the basis of the testing which will be carried out both on the laboratory samples and the completed field.

GreenFields is proud to be one of the elite turf specialists to meet the stringent, professional standards set by the FIFA quality turf programme.

FIH Preferred Supplier

GreenFields is an approved supplier for the FIH (International Hockey Federation). Our hockey turf fields have been designed to comply with FIH global and national classification standards.

World Rugby Preferred Producer

World Rugby has selected GreenFields as one of their preferred suppliers due to our proven quality and global track record in installing rugby turf.

Maintenance

After installation it is essential to maintain the playing surface, so that it retains its high level of performance. Our synthetic turf experts have developed an extensive programme which outlines the requirements for both daily and long term maintenance, ensuring maximum playability and continuous comfort and safety.

We can advise on the maintenance required for your specific pitch which can be carried out by your own maintenance staff with training provided by local GreenFields’ representatives, we can also schedule professional maintenance on a quarterly basis.

The GreenFields Grounds Team is specialised in the ongoing maintenance required for both synthetic and hybrid surfaces. In the UK, our experienced team is responsible for the upkeep of our hybrid product- XtraGrass at a number of high profile venues.
